HIZEN5 IMARIPEN Porcelain Glass Pen – Chinese Floral Blue is decorated using underglaze blue painting, where cobalt pigment is brushed onto white porcelain and sealed beneath a transparent glaze. The floral motif is drawn by hand, with each piece finished carefully by a painting artisan for a delicate, collected look. A small ring formed during the hanging-firing process is intentionally left visible, kept as a quiet, honest detail of how the piece was made.
About Imari Ware: Often referred to as Imari-Nabeshima ware, this porcelain tradition was formed in the Okawachiyama village of Imari, Saga prefecture and was historically produced for presentation and gift purposes under strict standards. The revered “Nabeshima style” is especially valued for disciplined brushwork—refined lines that stay controlled in width and placement—supported by carefully selected materials and highly skilled craftsmanship.
Note: Each pen is finished by hand, resulting in slight variations that reflect the artisan’s touch rather than mechanical repetition, making each piece unique.
