Kara-nuri Ballpoint Pen – Royal Blue is crafted from “Pure Malt” oak barrel wood and finished using Kara-nuri, the most iconic technique within the traditional Tsugaru-nuri lacquerware of northern Japan. The Royal Blue finish features a tonal-speckled pattern that appears simple at first glance but demands precise pigment control, careful humidity adjustments, and repeated lacquering. Completed by hand in Kobayashi Lacquerware’s workshop, it delivers a calm yet vivid surface with a composed presence and gentle warmth in the hand.
